<quote>The dual backups is where data is backed up to two offsite locations. One site is backed up to with every commit, the other one is backed up to nightly, and maintains a history of repositories.</quote>

That's exactly what xp-dev.com does at the moment!

James,

Part of my goal was to avoid monthly billing. I don't plan on using a merchant account, simple PayPal is easier.

Now, were you saying $40/year starting, or for what you want. If you have 700mb in repos, you'd be at the $40/year for 1gb price range.

I was going back and forth with the starting price being $20 or $30. Part of my goal was to make it low enough to where subscribing didn't really need a second thought. $20 definitely fits that bill, $30 gets a little higher.

Overall, I wouldn't have posted pricing if I was confident in it. Additionally, my goal was to have it be cheap. It isn't full project management like other services and will focus on the core features.

As for importing history with SVN, yes it is possible. You need a dump file of the existing repositories. I don't have support for importing SVN repositories yet, but it is easy to do.

btw, now that you obviously know SVN from the server-side, is it possible for us to migrate our repositories and retain all history? whether the existing service allows it is another matter, but is it even possible? Curious...

FWIW, I have ~30 repositories totaling ~700mb

My 2c? It's still too cheap, even for individuals with mean spouses. $20/m - too much, $20/year - too little. You need to conduct a straw poll.

My vote would be something like $5/m, $12/q, $40/yr.

The pricing of $20 a year is more than fair for what you get. After looking at the previews you provided the other day, I'm looking forward to trying it out.

Good luck with the new endeavor!
